Shortcut (sort of)...
1) Remove seat.
2) Remove rear tank bolts, pull tank loose and set where the seat was, you can leave the wires and speedo cable hooked up, there is enough slack.
3) Remove rear bolt from "valve cover and loosen front, swing cover away from bike.
4) Take out old plug, throw away, and install a Champion 809c gapped to .036 inches in its place. This is a larger gap, but works better in mine. 809c is a 5/8" plug and is much more readily available than the stocker.
5) Put back together in reverse order.
At step 3 above, remove cover and leave off. Follow remaining steps. You will no longer need to mess with the seat or tank to change the plug. Bike will look somewhat Shovelhead-esque as opposed to a Panhead valve cover knockoff.
